Who doesn’t want a happy and fulfilling life? Everybody does. Happiness and fulfillment are the dreamy words for everybody or for most of the people. Everybody looks forward to and craves to have a happy and fulfilling life. So, today let’s make it possible. What? Is it possible? These are certainly your questions, but fortunately the answer is yes, it is possible.  Anybody can have a happy, content and fulfilling life.

Is it difficult? No! But it is an everyday process on which you need to work on. Like how you work on your everyday things, projects, chores, deadlines and more, similarly you need to work on having a life you are dreaming of. It’s not a one day project, but a lifetime one

But how? Don’t worry, we have a few tips which can make your life into your desired one. But before that, you need to know what happiness and fulfillment exactly is.

Happiness is a positive emotion which arises from positive life experiences, thoughts and situations. You smile, laugh, feel joyful, feel peaceful, and feel good in the state of happiness. Fulfillment is obtained when you achieve your desired things or reach your targeted things. You feel happy, content, satisfied in the state of fulfillment.

To achieve a life filled with happiness and fulfillment, follow the tips and take one step each day slowly and steadily, as we already said, it is not a one day project.

 Time is something that can never come back. So we need to spend and prioritize time wisely. How? Make a list of your daily activities and everyday works and prepare a schedule, so that you will know when and where you have time for your “me” time, family time and friends and hobbies time. By doing this, you do not feel lagging with your work, or lonely all by yourself, or empty. You will feel peaceful by the end of the day since you will be doing things which are important and which makes you happy.

Relationships are one of the major factors that contribute to your happiness and satisfaction. So, maintaining healthy relationships is very important in your life. Prioritize your loved ones, spend some time with them every day, listen and communicate with them, occasionally surprise them, work on misunderstandings if any, respect their boundaries and you too maintain healthy boundaries. Healthy relationships can make you grow and can bring in happiness and loved feelings.

The art of giving is beautiful and effective in achieving happiness. You might think about how I get happiness if I give something rather than taking. When you give somebody something which they like or need, the gratitude and happiness they show to you when they receive it, brings in lots of happiness in you. Their smile brings a smile to your face. You feel satisfied and content with the art of giving.

Lack of time for yourself and others and only doing work can bring about frustration. So maintaining work-life balance is crucial. Yes, we agree that work is important, but the time you give for your work should not cross over the time you need to give for other things in life. A work-life balance helps you feel accomplished as you work productively within work hours and also helps you feel satisfied as you will be able to spend time on other important things in life. You need to remember that work is part of your life but not your entire life. Your life consists of many more things which you need to give time to.

Being always positive might be difficult at times, but keeping negativity away can help you to be positive and happy. Accepting negativity in any form is destructive to your life. Negative is not confined to only one element. Negativity can be experienced by people (family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors), situations (at home, at and workplace, in public place) and thoughts (due to external factors, internal factors). So if any of these elements you are experiencing negativity in your life, kindly keep it away. If its people, let them know how you are feeling, if its situations, avoid those situations and if it’s your thoughts, recognize and divert for them.

Keeping your favorite hobbies with you is not a bad thing. It is not something immature or childish or time waste, but rather it is something that brings in self-worth and self-love and self-confidence. Every week, if possible, every day, do something from your favorite hobbies list. Make it a must and should routine in your life. You can unwind your stress and relax during the process of your favorite hobby. It increases your creativity and problem-solving abilities and brings confidence and pride within you.  The time you spend with yourself (“me time”) brings in contentment, inner peace and you will be happier.

The past can be overwhelming, be it a positive one or a traumatic one. Unless you make peace with the past, you cannot move on to the present. You need to remember that something that has happened has happened and can never be the same. You might have been fragile at that moment or confused or immature or prone to situations and acted accordingly in your past. It’s not your fault and everyone makes mistakes unknowingly. Don’t get stuck in your past. It does no good to you and your future. The only thing you need to do is learn from the past, gain wisdom and avoid such mistakes in the present. Make your past a book of lessons and create a beautiful path into your present.

Empathy means putting yourself in others’ shoes and feeling what others are feeling. And kindness means being generous and considerate towards others. These qualities are very important and practicing empathy and kindness will not only make your life happy and satisfied but others lives also. When you practice empathy, you can understand exactly, or to most of the extent, how others are feeling and with that understanding, you can help them materials wise or emotional wise. When you practice kindness, you will be considerate towards others who are in need and will help them. Empathy and kindness make you a soft and beautiful person. You will feel satisfied when you see others happy, and it drives you to do the same for more people.

Gratitude is being thankful and grateful. We usually take everything for granted.  You think that things are happening in your way because they are meant to happen and people in your life are doing favors to you because it’s their duty to do them. But when you start practicing gratitude, you will see that it is nobody’s duty to take care of you or do favors to you, it is their love which is a blessing and things don’t necessarily need to happen your way, but it is a miracle to happen that way. This kind of view brings humbleness in you, and you start feeling thankful for each and everything in your life. You will start counting your blessings and feel how blessed you are, brings in more contentment and satisfaction to your life. 

Being in the present is the most important thing. You will keep getting hurt if you are in the past, and you will feel anxious if you think about the future. Both hurt you and waste your precious time in the present. Forget about the past and leave the future to the future. Be in the present and work hard, enjoy the beautiful things in your life, spend time with your loved ones because, if you aren’t in the present, it will also become past at some moment, and you will feel regretful for the missed things.

Forgiveness is not something for others, but for you. We know it will be hard to forget and forgive who wronged you, but it is for your own good. If you keep remembering the situations and people, you will always be in pain thinking how you got hurt and it’s your mistake to let it happen. Sometimes things happen and people behave in a certain way need not be your mistake always. So, if you forgive quickly, your healing process will start quickly and very soon you will become normal. You will regain your original self and will be happy again. 

Don’t hold onto things you can’t control as they don’t do any good to you. You will be over thinking, anxious and tensed about things and situations you can’t control. Instead, make a list of things you can control in the situation and work towards it. It will bring you success and a sense of accomplishment in your life.

Poor lifestyle will lead to physical and mental health issues. You need to maintain a healthy lifestyle to have a happy and fulfilled life. Eat healthy and nutritious food, sleep for 7-8 hours, drink plenty of water according to your weight, exercise 5 times a week, read good books, maintain hobbies, spend quality time with loved ones will make your life peaceful and happy.

Having a broad perspective on life helps you with attaining a happy life. In a situation or for a person, always having a broader perspective will help you to see the pros and cons, understand the other side of the story and observe even small things, which helps you to have a better understanding about the situation and the person. It minimizes the negativity and gives practical points of things. Your view from bad changes to neutral or good in your life, which makes you peaceful and happy.
